About

Glendinning Engineering, LLC. is a privately owned small business that specializes in producing unique model trains for the serious collector and hobbyist. Our founder and current owner Bobby started building basic models in 2008 using cardstock and basswood. For years he perfected his craft with this material, building a number of rolling stock from scratch including DOD M-140s, FEC & CSX ortner hoppers, and a 20-axle Schnabel car. In 2018 Bobby switched to using styrene predominantly and built a number of styrene unit trains including Trinity rock gondola trains (MWAX, PRMX, HROX) and a fleet of FEC 17000-series Greenbrier hoppers. In 2021 he purchased his first 3D printer and continues producing models now with multiple printers.

All of our models are completely custom designed and drawn in house. We aim for a high standard of quality and strive for accurate detail, while making every car reliable and track-worthy.

We are often asked if we make custom rail cars for individuals. The answer for now is no, mainly because of time and resource constraints. However we are always interested in ideas for future projects, so please feel free to reach out if you know of a model that has never been produced before.

Bobby works full time as an R&D Engineer for Glendinning Products LLC. using his design and manufacturing experience to build model trains at home. In Bobby’s spare time, he enjoys spending time with his wife Amy and their 3 young children.

John 3:16 says “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.” When Bobby was a child he recognized his need for a Savior and he placed his faith and trust in Jesus Christ to save him from eternal judgement. Jesus Christ received punishment for sins when He died on the cross and rose from the dead. Now the opportunity is open to everyone to be saved if they believe in Jesus. It is Bobby and Amy’s greatest prayer that you come to receive Jesus Christ as your Savior too! (Romans 3:23, 6:23, 5:8-9, 10:13)
